Professional Summary

Currently a graduate student of American Studies, I research U.S. culture, politics, and history from an outsider's perspective. My upbringing and socialization outside of the United States, my work as a journalist, my background in Gender Studies, and my identity as a queer woman allow me to examine aspects of its culture and politics from a different perspective and remind me to center and amplify the voices of marginalized groups in my work as a both a journalist and educator.

While social media has allowed me to speak to a larger audience, I am still an an educator first, whether I speak to millions of people online or to a handful of people in a classroom.
